If you hold a permit, a certificate of professional competence or a certificate of competence to set off pyrotechnic items, you must notify the responsible authority in advance of any planned fireworks display.
If you
- Fireworks of category F2 or F3
- Large fireworks displays of category F4
- Stage and theatre fireworks of category T1 or T2
- other fireworks of category P1 or P2
Please include all necessary information and documents with your notification so that the responsible authority can examine your project:
- Describe your plans and the location of the planned fireworks display in detail. In particular, provide the following information:
- Name and address of the persons responsible for setting off the fireworks and, if necessary, the number and date of the permit or certificate of competence and the issuing authority
- Location, type and extent as well as start and end of the fireworks
- Distances to particularly fire-sensitive buildings and facilities within the largest protective distance
- the security measures, in particular barrier measures and other precautions to protect the neighbourhood and the general public
- Please attach your permit or proof of competence to set off pyrotechnic articles to your report.
You have a permit or a certificate of competence from an authority to set off pyrotechnic articles.
In the vicinity of buildings or facilities that are particularly susceptible to fire, you may only set off fireworks at a sufficient distance and taking the wind direction into account. For rockets, a distance of at least 200 m must be maintained, and for all other buildings, a distance of at least 50 m.
You are not allowed to set off fireworks in the immediate vicinity of churches, hospitals, kindergartens, retirement homes or half-timbered houses.

To place an ad, please proceed as follows:
- Attach all necessary documents to your written notice.
- Describe the project and location in detail.
- The authority will check the documents you have submitted for completeness and plausibility.
- If necessary, the authority will request further documents from you.
- There will be no feedback after a successful exam.
Report your planned fireworks display to the responsible authority within the following deadlines:
- 2 weeks in advance for pyrotechnic articles of category F2 in the period from 2 January to 30 December.
- 2 weeks in advance for pyrotechnic articles of categories F3, F4, P1, P2, T1 and T2 all year round.
Category 2 pyrotechnic articles may also be set off on 31 December and 1 January by persons aged 18 or over.
The following are subject to notification:
- Fireworks of category F2 or F3
- Large fireworks displays of category F4
- Stage and theatre fireworks of category T1 or T2
- other fireworks of categories P1 and P2
