If you want to look after a child or several children outside the household of the legal guardian on a regular basis and for payment, you usually have to apply for a permit.
Children aged 0 to 14 years can be looked after in child day care. You need a permit for child day care if you look after a child or several children outside the household of the guardians, and the care
- during part of the day and more than 15 hours per week
- against payment
- longer than 3 months
- is usually limited to 5 years,

- authorizes you to care for up to 5 children who are not your own children and who are present at the same time.
