If you want to re-use a grave before the end of the rest period, you must apply for an exemption.
The rest period describes the period during which a grave may not be reused. This period is at least 25 years. The rest period begins on the day of the burial and in Hamburg is 25 years regardless of the type of burial. If you want to reuse a grave before the end of the rest period, you must apply for an exemption from the responsible authority.
