If you have rent arrears, you can receive financial assistance to avoid housing and homelessness.
Rent arrears can arise due to insolvency and may lead to the loss of your accommodation.
If you have rent arrears, these can be taken over under certain conditions if this serves to secure your accommodation/apartment.
You receive this support in the form of a loan or grant. Unlike a loan, grants do not have to be repaid.
The prerequisite is that you are unable to manage the rent arrears on your own. The decision as to whether you will receive assistance is always made on a case-by-case basis. You can still apply for assistance even if you have already been evicted due to rent arrears.
The Housing Authority's Office will check whether all the requirements for assuming your rent arrears are met. You can also get advice on how to resolve the rent arrears, for example, through installment payments.
There is no legal right to have your rental debts taken over.
