Would you like to transfer the rights and obligations of a bus and coach company? You must apply for the necessary authorization from the relevant authority. Further information is available here.

If you wish to transfer the rights and obligations under your bus and coach permit to another person or company, you must apply to the relevant authority. The permit will then be transferred to the new holder, allowing them to assume all duties and obligations.

• Application for transfer of the bus licence with the following information
  • Surname, first name of the applicant
  • Residence and place of business
  • for natural persons, birthday, place of birth
  • Number of vehicles, vehicle type, capacity of the vehicles used
  • Informal justification as to why the bus licence should be transferred
• Service certificates or examination certificates (on professional suitability) of the applicant or the person appointed to manage the business
• Annual financial statements or opening balance sheet / statement of assets and, if applicable, equity certificate / additional certificate (not older than 3 months)
• Certificate of clearance from the tax office, the municipality, the social security office and the professional association (not older than 3 months)
  • Certificates of clearance must be presented by the company, the legal representative and the person appointed to manage the business / traffic management
• Certificate of good conduct for submission to the authorities
• Extract from the Central Trade Register
• Extract from the driving aptitude register (FAER) about the license holder
• Business registration
• a declaration of consent from the acquiring entrepreneur
• Optional: Commercial register extract, articles of association

• The safety and efficiency of your company is guaranteed.
• There are no facts that would suggest your unreliability.
• The person who is to take over your bus company is professionally qualified.
• The transferee and the entrepreneurs commissioned by him or her to provide transport services have their place of business or branch within the meaning of commercial law in Germany.

In the case of legal entities under public law, the requirements are deemed to be met.

• You submit your application to the responsible office and attach all necessary documents.
• The responsible body will process your application and conduct the necessary hearing procedures.
• You will receive a notification of the decision to grant the bus permit.
• If necessary, you will be given the certificate of approval.

Processing times may vary.

If your application is complete, a decision will be made within three months. This deadline can be extended by three months if necessary.
