Ab- bzw. Nachstempelung von Kfz-Kennzeichen

If the license plates have become damaged or illegible, or if a sticker (stamp sticker or inspection sticker) has become detached from the license plate, you must ensure that a new sticker or several new stickers are placed on the previous license plates or on new license plates.

The license plates are provided with adhesive stickers by the registration authority.

• Registration certificate part I or vehicle registration document
• License plates

  for registered vehicles

• valid test report on a general inspection

  e.g. TÜV, DEKRA, GTÜ, KÜS, GTS, FSP

• external licence plates

  in the case of registered vehicles which are not registered in Bremen or Bremerhaven at the time of their registration there

There must be no overdue fees and expenses from previous registration processes.

An informal application must be submitted to the licensing authority. A representative can also be appointed without special authorization.

Note:
To save time, it is advisable to drive to the registration authority, remove the damaged or incomplete license plate and present it.

Tip:
Any new license plates required can be produced in advance. Private providers have set up near the registration authorities for this purpose. The costs for the plates are not included in the fees.
