The citizens' offices will accept your application for a certificate of good conduct from the Federal Central Register if you are registered for a residence in Bremerhaven (main or secondary residence) or, if you are not subject to mandatory registration, if you usually reside in Bremerhaven.
Since September 1, 2014, certificates of good conduct and information from the commercial central register can also be applied for online on the Internet at the Federal Office of Justice. This requires an electronic ID card with the online ID function activated and a card reader.

- Since May 1, 2010, it has also been possible to apply for a so-called "extended certificate of good conduct" (Section 30 a (1) of the Federal Central Register Act). According to this, the applicant must submit a written request from the office requiring the extended certificate of good conduct when submitting the application. In accordance with Section 30 a (1) of the Federal Central Register Act, the office must confirm that the person concerned is or will be active in a professional, honorary or other capacity in relation to children and young people. The (exemplary) note of the office "It is confirmed that the requirements according to § 30 a para. 1 BZRG are met" also meets the requirements.
- If such a written request is not submitted, the application for an extended certificate of good conduct may not be accepted.
- The fee for the extended certificate of good conduct is also 13.00 euros.
