Förderung für Umweltbildung Bewilligung

If you would like to apply for funding for an environmental education project, this is done with the external sponsor Umwelt Bildung Bremen.

There are two different funding options:

• District-related basic funding
• BINGO! Project funding

The criteria listed below are a summary; details are available at the links listed under "Publications."

For basic district-based funding:

• Focus on district-based environmental education,
• Practical teaching of knowledge about nature, environmental protection and resource conservation,
• different target groups and event forms,
• Accessibility, telephone presence, fixed opening hours,
• professional and pedagogical qualification of staff.

For the BINGO! Project funding in the area of environmental education:

Eligible are projects and measures in the sense of education for sustainable development (ESD) of children and young people, especially in the areas of environmental protection and nature conservation, global development and development cooperation, which have an active educational reference to Bremen in terms of content. In addition, the measure must:

• originate from a non-profit recognized association or organization, and
• the project must not have been started before the application.

District-based basic funding
Suitable institutions can apply for the basic funding within the framework of a formal tendering procedure. Basic funding is announced every two years, and the application deadline is usually in the fall of the previous year of the funding period. The grant is then awarded in December.

To apply, download the complete application documents (application form, tables V and K (see "Forms") ) and send 8 copies by mail to the Coordination Office for Environmental Education Bremen, Am Dobben 43a, 28203 Bremen, Germany, by the application deadline.

BINGO! Project funding in the area of environmental education
To apply, download the current application form (see "Forms") and fill it out completely (plus separate project description of up to four pages in Arial 10, 1.2 lines). The documents are to be sent by mail in 8 copies to the Coordination Office Environment Education Bremen, Attn. Kathrin Sinschek, Am Dobben 43a, 28203 Bremen. In addition, please send an electronic copy of the complete application by e-mail to umweltbildung@bremer-umwelt-beratung.de.
