You want to register your dog?

If the tax is assessed for the first time, it is due one month after notification of the tax assessment notice. Once the assessed tax has been paid for the first time, the dog owner receives a tax sticker that is valid for a maximum of three calendar years. The current tax sticker (orange) is valid for the calendar years 2024 to 2026.

The tax liability begins on the first of the month following the month in which a dog is taken into a household or business or in which the dog owner moves in, but no earlier than the end of the month in which the dog turns three months old.

Alternatively, there are the following options:

• in person (this can also be done by another person using a power of attorney)
• in writing
• by e-mail
• by fax

Upon application, the tax may be reduced or waived in certain cases, or one may be exempt from it.
