Assistance for the elderly is intended to help prevent, overcome or alleviate difficulties arising from old age and to give old people the opportunity to participate in life in the community. It should also serve as a preparation for old age.
Benefits that may be considered are:
- Activity for social engagement, if this is desired.
- Procurement to maintain an apartment that meets the needs of the elderly person.
- Advice and support in all questions of admission to an institution that serves the care of the elderly and in the procurement of a suitable home place.
- Advice and assistance in all matters concerning the use of services suitable for the elderly.
- Benefit to attend events or facilities that serve socializing, entertainment, education or cultural needs.
- Services that enable the elderly to connect with loved ones.
Whether you are entitled to receive assistance for the elderly in the form of cash benefits is assessed on an individual basis and depends on your income or assets. The counseling services in this regard are free of charge.
