If a vehicle that exceeds the permitted weight is to be driven on a road for which a weight restriction applies, a special permit must be applied for beforehand.

Please clarify with any company you have commissioned whether any subcontractors will be carrying out the transportation. Please then name the owner company. We would like to point out that the holder of the exemption permit is liable for any damage incurred.

Due to the extensive checks (e.g. bridge requirements etc.) required for this special permit, we request that the corresponding application is submitted at least 14 days before the start of the journey. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

Here you will find an overview of the weight-restricted roads and places (see link). If the road you are looking for is not on the list, it may be a road/path that falls under the responsibility of Umweltbetrieb Bremen.

In the case of private road communities, please contact the road inspector directly and ask for a permit.

Please complete the online application (see right-hand column - Online processing): Once the online application has been received, a confirmation of receipt will be sent. If it is not possible for you to send us the required documents as file attachments, you can also send them by post or fax (04 21 / 496 - 69 45). Please make sure that all your documents (number) can be clearly assigned to your application. If your documents have not reached us within 14 days of submitting your application, we will consider your application to be invalid. In this case, you will not receive any further notification from us.
