In order to set up a container, construction material, lifting platforms, risers or similar on public land, you require a permit in accordance with §18 of the Bremen State Road Act. A distinction is made between an individual permit and an annual permit. Extension applications can also be submitted via the service.

Please note that you require an individual permit to set up a container in the inner city area despite having an annual permit.
If you wish to apply for a special use permit for outdoor seating (seating etc.), please contact the responsible building supervisory authority. For a special use permit for construction site crossings, construction cranes, mobile cranes, etc., please contact the Office for Roads and Traffic (ASV).

The application should be submitted at least two weeks before the special use is to be utilized.
Once you have submitted your application in writing, it will be forwarded to the authorities involved for their comments. If there are no objections to the location you have chosen, you will receive permission from the Bremen Public Order Office to set up a container and a notification of costs.
If a no-stopping zone is to be set up, this must be arranged via the responsible police station. The application for special use does not automatically set up a no-stopping zone. There are also separate costs that are charged by the police station. A no-stopping zone must be set up at least four working days in advance.
If a special use permit is granted, the permit holder assumes responsibility for the proper safety measures for stationary and moving traffic for the duration of the special use.

No registration is required to use this service.
