In order to hold a street party on public ground in the open air and in tents, you need a permit according to §18 Bremisches Landesstraßengesetz.

We would like to point out that holding a street party without the required permit, but also a violation of the conditions listed in the permit, is an administrative offense. This can be punished with a fine.

Possible costs for shut-off measures

For a street festival permit, please submit a written application with the following information:

• Event location (outdoor or tent)
• Event period
• Event activities (planned music program and possibly other event contributions such as play activities, set-up of stages and booths)
• Food and beverages (cost price or commercial sale)

Please note that if you are selling alcoholic beverages on a commercial basis for consumption on site, you will need a permit in accordance with the German Restaurant Act (Gaststättengesetz). Information on the application required for this can be obtained from the Senator for Economics, Labor and Europe, Hospitality Department, by calling +49 421 361-6929.

Please submit your application to the Bremen Ordnungsamt as early as possible. The sooner we receive the application, the sooner we can let you know how to handle your festival as far as possible without any disruptions. Please do not forget to include the full address of the person responsible with telephone number and e-mail address on your application so that additional information can be requested.
