The Senator for Children and Education is responsible for the assessment of school-leaving qualifications obtained abroad - including the recognition of the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Recognition is granted for the purpose of applying to university, taking up employment or vocational training and further education in the federal state of Bremen.

- Issue of the decision
The processing time depends to a large extent on the cooperation of the applicant and, in individual cases, on the assistance provided by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). As a rule, processing takes up to three months - provided the documents are complete.
