If your place of residence changes, you must have the new place of residence entered in your passport.
If your place of residence has changed, for example after a move, you must have the new place of residence entered on your passport.
If you have your place of residence changed in person at the authority responsible for you at your new place of residence, an address sticker with your new place of residence will be affixed to your passport.
Even if you move abroad and no longer have an address in Germany, your passport must be changed. The address sticker will then show your place of residence abroad.
- You have a valid passport.
- You have already registered your new address with your local registration office.
- You have an official confirmation of registration.
- You do not need an appointment for the change.
- Please present your identity document at our information desk during our opening hours.
- An official address sticker with your new place of residence will then be affixed to your passport over your old place of residence.
You must have your new place of residence changed in your passport immediately after your change of address.
