If you are planning a measure to reduce greenhouse gases locally, you can receive funding under certain conditions.
The primary goal of a measure funded by us is the local reduction of greenhouse gases, which at the same time advances the climate policy goals of the seaside city of Bremerhaven.
Eligible elements of a project are, for example, the conception and planning of the project, material costs incurred or public relations work.
Unfortunately, we cannot fund the ongoing costs of a measure after the project has been completed, projects outside the city limits or measures that are primarily for self-promotion.
The project must be carried out in the city of Bremerhaven. Natural and legal persons are eligible to apply. The project must not have been started before the application is approved.
Criteria worthy of consideration for the allocation of funds in terms of local climate protection are
- Greenhouse gas emissions saved, the reference of the project to objectives of the municipal climate protection policy,
- exemplary character, role model function,
- recognizable results, short to
- project completion in the short to medium term,
- innovative character,
- broad impact,
- Amount of own contribution
Applications for funding should be submitted to the Climate City Office using the application form.
Applicants are given the opportunity to present their project orally at a meeting of the climate policy steering group of the Climate City Office Bremerhaven and to justify their application. The climate policy steering group examines the eligibility of the application in relation to the climate protection goals of the City of Bremerhaven, gives its opinion and makes a recommendation for funding.
Once the application has been finally reviewed, the Environmental Protection Agency will issue the grant notification within the framework of the available budget funds.
In the event of funding, the recipient of the grant must provide evidence of the appropriate use of funds in the form of a material and financial report, including supporting documents. The reports must be submitted within 3 months of the end of the funding period at the latest.
Interim reports may be requested for projects lasting more than one year.
The grant must be used economically and sparingly. The funds are to be used exclusively for the intended purpose and in principle within the framework of the financing plan that has been declared binding.
Any remaining funds from the grant that have not been spent must be repaid immediately and irrespective of the deadline for submitting proof of use. If this is not done in good time, interest must be paid on the reimbursement amount.
The grant must be reimbursed in full or in part if the grant notification is to be revoked in accordance with the provisions of the Bremen Administrative Procedure Act.
