Anyone wishing to replace their oil, gas or coal-fired heating system or an electric resistance heating system with a climate-friendly form of heating can apply for a grant from the Senator for the Environment, Climate and Science until August 31, 2025.
What is subsidized?
Funding is available for the installation of efficient heat generators and heating support systems, as well as for connection to a building or heating network.
Who is eligible for funding?
Eligible applicants are private individuals as building owners, tenants and leaseholders as well as companies that have contractually taken over the heat supply and/or hot water supply of a building (so-called contractors).
How is funding provided?
The funding amount is calculated in such a way that the sum of the subsidies granted by third parties and the state for the same measure corresponds to 60% of the eligible investment expenditure.
Who is my contact person?
The Senator for the Environment, Climate and Science has commissioned BAB Bremer Aufbau-Bank GmbH to process applications under this funding guideline.
- The funding can be granted for existing buildings in the state of Bremen regardless of their type of use (residential use, commercial use).
- The replacement of functional oil, coal, gas floor or electric resistance heating systems (with no requirement as to the date of commissioning) or functional gas heating systems (if commissioning dates back at least 15 years at the time of application).
- A certificate of decommissioning from a specialist company or waste disposal company must be submitted confirming that the heating system has been properly decommissioned.
- State funding under these guidelines will only be granted if funding for the same measure is applied for and approved under the guidelines for federal funding for efficient buildings - individual measures (BEG EM).
- Important: The application for state funding and the application for early project start must be submitted first and the applicant must have received approval for early project start before the application for federal funding can be submitted. The background to this is the change in the federal application procedure, which must be submitted before the application for federal funding, as the date on which the project begins is the date on which the funding commitment is received from KfW. From this point onwards, it is no longer possible to apply for state funding.
- Apply for funding from the BAB before you submit your application for federal funding.
