You can request information on the content of a land use plan from the local authority responsible.
New and amended land use plans are generally available online. If this is not the case for a land use plan, you can request information about its contents if you wish to view it. The local authority responsible or the body responsible for the procedure is obliged to provide you with the information you require.
A land use plan
- is a preparatory urban land-use plan and the basis for a development plan.
- It has no legally binding significance. The intended urban development of a municipality is defined in the land use plan. The plan therefore shows how each part of the municipal area is to be used.
Possible uses are
- Residential,
- commercial,
- transportation,
- infrastructure,
- recreation or
- nature and the environment.
It generally consists of:
- Indication of the planning objectives
- various maps on land use, development or the environment
- a legend to the maps and
- a justification with, for example, an indication of the decisions and considerations.
- Check whether the competent authority has made the desired land use plan available on the Internet.
- If not, contact the local authority responsible for the land use plan in person, by telephone, in writing or by e-mail.
- The authority will then decide how to provide the information:
- on site at the competent authority,
- electronically or
- in writing.
