You can dispose of organic waste at recycling stations.

Organic waste is a recyclable material and does not belong in the residual waste garbage can, which is why biodegradable waste (organic kitchen waste and garden waste) should be collected separately from residual waste. Separate collection facilitates the high-quality recycling of organic waste through fermentation. In addition, the humus components and nutrients contained in the organic waste can be returned to the natural cycle as fermentation substrate or compost. This reduces the amount of residual waste and facilitates the disposal of residual waste.

You can dispose of biowaste free of charge at Bremen's recycling stations.

This is biowaste:

• Kitchen waste:
  • Leftover bread and cake, fish and meat, including bones and bones, fruit and citrus fruit, salad and vegetables, egg and potato peelings, solid food such as leftover cheese with natural rind, sausage, nutshells or leftover food, tea leaves and bags, filter bags and coffee grounds. Also kitchen paper used in food preparation
• Plant waste:
  • Flowers, balcony plants, contents of flower pots and small quantities of shrub and grass cuttings

This is not organic waste:

• Packaged food and fruit and vegetable nets, (biodegradable) plastic bags, coffee capsules and disposable crockery, household waste such as broken glass, ceramics, ash and sweepings, barbecue charcoal, candle remains, napkins and vacuum cleaner bags, animal litter and droppings, absorbent cotton, medicines, hygiene products, diapers and cigarette butts, liquid waste and oils

This all belongs in the residual waste.

Tip: Allow moist organic waste to drain well and wrap it in newspaper. This helps to prevent freezing in winter and unpleasant odors in summer.

• Official proof of identity or fee notice (original)

  In justified cases, the joint presentation of the official proof of identity and the fee notice may be requested.

• Declaration of waste origin

  Upon request, the deliverers must sign a declaration stating their name, address including telephone number and presenting official proof of identity, in which the exact private origin of the waste and/or recyclables is stated and confirmed.

• The delivery of waste and recyclable materials is only permitted with vehicles with a permissible total weight of up to 3.5 tons
• Waste and recyclable materials must be delivered unmixed and free from harmful contamination and adhesions.
• The organic waste comes from a private household that is connected to the municipal waste disposal system.

• You can dispose of organic waste at recycling stations.
• The waste and recyclable materials must be placed in the appropriately labeled bins or containers.

Transport packaging and containers must be taken back by the deliverers. The waste, recyclable materials and hazardous substances become the property of Die Bremer Stadtreinigung when they are placed in the collection bins/containers or handed over to the operating personnel. This also applies if they have already been unloaded or secured. The deliverers are obliged to provide information about the origin of the waste and/or recyclables they deliver. The station's operating personnel are authorized to inspect all waste delivered and to reject waste, recyclable materials and hazardous substances, even if they have already been unloaded.
