You have not received a polling card because you may not be on the electoral roll for the Bundestag election. You can find out how to register on the electoral roll here.

An official voters' register is kept in each electoral district.

You are entered in the voters' register if you are eligible to vote on election day and are registered with your main residence in the respective city or municipality on a certain cut-off date.

You will receive a polling card at least 3 weeks before election day.

If you move house, you may not yet be on the electoral roll for your new electoral district. In this case, you can register on the electoral roll of your city or municipality up to the 21st day before the election.

If you have not received a voter's notification, you should immediately check with your municipality whether you are on the electoral roll. If this is not the case, you can apply to be entered.

The electoral roll is available for public inspection from the 20th to the 16th day before the election.

You can only take part in the election if you are entered in the electoral roll.

You are not listed in the electoral roll of your city or municipal administration, although you are entitled to vote.

All Germans within the meaning of the Basic Law who

• are at least 18 years old on election day,
• have lived in Germany for at least 3 months or otherwise usually reside in Germany and
• are not excluded from the right to vote.

The voter's notification will be sent by post before the election. If you have not received one, please contact your city or municipal administration and apply to be entered in the electoral roll.

If registration is possible, you will receive a voter's notification immediately.

If you are not eligible to vote, you will also be notified immediately.

You can apply to be entered in the electoral roll up to the 21st day before the election.
After this time, you can apply to have the electoral roll corrected.

People who are unable to submit the application themselves can be assisted by another person. This may be necessary, for example, if the applicant cannot read or is physically impaired. The assisting person must then sign the application.
