If you want to carry out remediation or demolition work in the presence of asbestos with high fibre releases, you need a permit, which you apply for from the competent authority.

For renovation or demolition work in the presence of asbestos with high fibre releases, you need a permit. This applies in particular to work where asbestos is present in weakly bound form or due to work in which a high number of asbestos fibres may be released.

• Certificate of competence
• Test certificates (e.g. device inspections)

• Availability of personnel and safety equipment
• Compliance with the requirements contained in TRGS 519 "Asbestos"

Costs: variable from 100 to 1000 euros

You can apply for approval for renovation or demolition activities by e-mail or post at the competent authority.

• You submit the required documents with your application.
• The competent authority will check your application for completeness
• The competent authority will give you feedback.
• The competent authority shall grant approval or refusal.

• Approval for demolition and remediation work in the presence of asbestos in weakly bound form Grant
  • Weakly bound asbestos materials are removed
  • Suitable personnel and safety equipment is available
  • At least one knowledgeable employee
  • Indication of planned activities
• Notification by e-mail or post
