If you receive unemployment benefit or citizen's allowance, you are obliged to inform your competent office immediately and without being asked of any changes to your personal data and circumstances.

Note: If you receive unemployment benefit and citizen's allowance (as a so-called "top-up"), you must inform both the employment agency and the job centre of the changes.

You will need to register for this. If you do not have a user account with the Federal Employment Agency, you can create one.

You must inform the responsible office immediately if there are any changes in your life, your home, your income, your employment or self-employment, or your marital status.

Advice:

• When taking up employment, you should not rely on any promises made by others that they will take over the notification. You are only obliged to do this yourself.
• If you receive citizen's allowance, you must obtain confirmation from your Jobcentre that it will cover your accommodation costs before signing a tenancy agreement.

• The notification can be made in person, in writing, by telephone or via the Internet. If you contact us by telephone, please submit the written notification later.
• Submit the completed form to your local employment agency or job centre. You will receive a new benefit notification if there are any changes as a result of your notification.

Communication: immediately

• Please notify us immediately of any changes and ensure that your details are complete and correct.
• If you provide incomplete or incorrect information or fail to notify us of changes immediately, you may have to reimburse any benefits you have wrongly received. You may also be committing an administrative offence or a criminal offence.
