As a disposer of hazardous waste in accordance with the Abfallverzeichnisverordnung (AVV), you are obliged to participate in a waste verification procedure. This is only possible with an officially issued disposal number.

You can apply for a disposal number from your local authority. You enter this identification number in the forms of the waste records procedure, such as waste disposal certificates, consignment notes and transfer notes. You will also need it if you wish to be certified as a specialised waste management company.

• Business registration or extract from the commercial register (copy)
• Plant licence (building permit or immission control permit)

As the operator of a waste disposal facility, you must have the appropriate authorisation. As a rule, this is based on building regulations or federal immission control regulations and must be submitted to the competent authority.

Administration fee: EUR 30.00 to EUR 85.00

• You can apply for the waste disposal number from the competent authorities in writing or electronically.
• The competent body will check the application received and, if necessary, make additional requests for the submission of missing or inadequate documents.
• If the information and documents are complete and plausible, the competent body will issue an identification number and inform you of this.
