Would you like to continue your bus company as an occasional service? Then you must apply for the necessary permit from the licensing authority responsible for you.

You require a permit for the commercial transportation of passengers by bus or coach in occasional services.

Occasional services include

• Excursions
• Vacation trips
• Trips with rental buses

The permit is limited to a maximum of 10 years. Before your temporary permit expires, you can submit a corresponding application for reissue to your competent licensing authority. On the basis of the new, again temporary permit, you can continue your bus and coach operation seamlessly.

• Current and expiring permit
• Application for reissue of the bus and coach permit for occasional services with details of:
  • Surname and first name
  • Place of residence and place of business
  • for natural persons: Date of birth, place of birth
  • Number of vehicles, vehicle type, capacity of the vehicles to be used
• Certificates of employment or examination certificates regarding your professional suitability
• Equity certificate, additional certificate if applicable, not older than 3 months
• Certificate in tax matters from the tax office, the municipality, the social security institutions and the employers' liability insurance association, not older than 3 months:
  • from the company
  • the legal representative
  • the person appointed to manage the business or traffic management
• Certificate of good conduct
• Extract from the central trade register
• Extract from the driving aptitude register (FAER)
• Vehicle list
• Proof of liability insurance for buses and coaches including risk identification number (WKZ)
• Business registration

• You are or were already in possession of a bus and coach license as an entrepreneur.
• You can guarantee the financial capacity of the company.
• You or the person appointed to manage the business are reliable.
• You or the person appointed to manage the business are professionally qualified.
• They have their registered office or branch office in Germany.

The amount of the fees depends on

• the number of vehicles and
• the term of the permit.

• Submit an application to the competent authority for the reissue of your previous permit.
• Submit all relevant evidence again to document the continued fulfillment of the requirements.
• The authority will check the application in particular to ensure that your financial capacity and professional suitability are up to date.
• Your permit will be renewed and delivered in writing upon approval.

A decision on your application will be made within 3 months. Processing can be extended by 3 months if necessary.
