Would you like to operate a technical X-ray device that does not require a permit or make significant changes to it? Then you must notify the competent authority for radiation protection.
Technical X-ray equipment that does not require a permit may include X-ray equipment that is to be used as basic, high or full protection equipment. You must notify the competent authority in writing of the planned commissioning or significant modification.
Significant changes to an X-ray device can be, for example
- Change of room
- Structural changes to the room
- Change of the image receiver
- Proof of expertise in radiation protection in accordance with § 74 Radiation Protection Act in conjunction with § 47 Radiation Protection Ordinance. § 47 Radiation Protection Ordinance with proof of updating
- Certificate and test report from an expert on the radiation protection test
- Proof of knowledge of radiation protection and of updates to this knowledge for personnel working at the X-ray facilities
If necessary, you must also submit
- Type approval certificate with confirmation of routine testing
- CE certificate of conformity
You wish to operate or significantly modify a technical X-ray device that does not require a permit.
- You submit the notification form with the required evidence to the competent authority at least four weeks before the planned commissioning or significant change to the operation.
- Upon receipt of the complete notification and the required evidence, the competent authority must review it within four weeks.
- After this four-week period has expired, you may operate the X-ray equipment or make significant changes to the operation unless the authority refuses operation and/or suspends the notification procedure because the examination shows that further testing procedures are required.
- If this does not take place, you can also start operating the X-ray equipment or making significant changes to the operation if the authority informs you in writing before the deadline that all the necessary evidence has been provided.
- You will receive the notification of fees with the notification confirmation.
