Anyone in marginal employment earning less than 450 euros is not subject to health insurance.

If you are in marginal paid employment (450 euro job/minijob), you are exempt from insurance in this employment. You do not have to pay any contributions for this.

You must make other arrangements for your health insurance.

For example:

• family insurance via your spouse or parents.
• Mini-job as a side job: the health insurance runs through the main occupation
• Mini-job for recipients of unemployment benefit II: the employment agency may take over the health insurance.

The exemption from compulsory health insurance continues only as long as the reason for the exemption continues.

• Your employer will register you after clarification of the insurance facts.
• Your health insurance company will answer any questions you may have.
