As a winegrower, cooperative or recognized producer group that accepts grapes or mash, you are obliged to report your grape harvest and wine production.
As a winegrower with more than 0.1 hectares of vineyards, a cooperative or a recognized producer group that accepts grapes or mash, you must report your grape harvest and wine production to the competent authority.
Under certain conditions, you do not need to declare your wine production and grape harvest.
As a full deliverer of partial areas, i.e. a partial deliverer who only delivers part of their harvest, you must declare the entire harvest quantity, including the grapes or grape musts that were delivered to the producer association/cooperative.
This does not apply if all partial deliverers of a cooperative or recognized producer group have authorized them to submit the grape harvest declaration for the delivered part. In this case, the individual partial deliverers are exempted from reporting the products delivered to the cooperative or recognized producer group.
This is a pure notification. No notification is issued by the authority.
You are required to register as a winegrower, grape producer, cooperative or recognized producer group that accepts grapes or mash with the exception of
- full-delivery member companies of a cooperative or recognized producer group
- businesses whose vineyard area is less than 0.1 hectares and which do not market the products derived from it
obligated.
Natural or legal persons or their associations, including cooperative wineries, who take over grapes, mash, grape must, grape must in fermentation or new wine from another business are obliged to register.

If less than 10 hectoliters of wine were produced from purchased products, the producer is only obliged to report if these or parts thereof are marketed.
You must report your grape harvest or wine production in writing. You can obtain a form for this purpose from the responsible office. Fill out the form accordingly and submit it to them.
Alternatively, you can also register your grape harvest and wine production in the online viticulture service.
In Rhineland-Palatinate, you can download the form from the homepage of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture, print it out, fill it in and submit it to the responsible office.
You can also report your grape harvest and wine production via the Wine Information Portal (WIP). To do this, log in to the wine information portal (WIP) of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture with your access data and call up the input mask for reporting the grape harvest and wine production. Enter all the required data there. When you finally click on the "Send" button, your report will be sent to the responsible office.
You must report your grape harvest and wine production to the competent authority by January 15 of the year following the harvest. Grapes harvested after 15.01., for example for ice wine, must be reported immediately.
Full-delivery members of a cooperative or recognized producer association are not required to register.
Grape producers or winegrowers whose vineyard area is less than 0.1 hectares and who do not market any part of their harvest in any form are also not required to notify .
In Rhineland-Palatinate, a distinction is made between declarations for own and purchased products. Therefore, there is an additional declaration only for purchased products.

You can submit the declarations to the municipal administrations of the municipalities not belonging to an association, to the municipal administrations of the municipalities belonging to an association, to the municipal administrations of independent and large towns belonging to a district or directly to the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture.
