- You apply for financial benefits.
You can apply for the following benefits:
- Compensation for extraordinary burdens for companies (employment protection grant)
- Disability-friendly furnishing or equipping of work and training places and the working environment
- Investments to create a new job or training position
- Premiums for the introduction of company integration management (BEM)
- Premiums and subsidies for the costs of vocational training
- Other measures for disability-friendly employment, such as qualification measures
The responsible body determines the scope of support individually and depending on the service required.
The actual amount of funding depends on the circumstances of the individual case.

- You would like to apply for benefits for a severely disabled person or a person with equivalent status or
- You would like to request advice on the employment and/or support of severely disabled persons or persons with equivalent status.
The person on whose behalf you are applying for the benefits must be in an employment relationship subject to social security contributions or in a civil service relationship of at least 15 hours/week.
The person for whom you are applying for benefits must be severely disabled or treated as such within the meaning of SGB IX.
If necessary, the responsible office will contact you in advance to advise you. The responsible office can then support you with the application.
If you already know which specific benefit you would like to apply for, you can also submit the application without prior consultation. The application can be made online.
- You fill in the application form or the query mask in the online portal.
- You submit your application together with all the necessary documents to the relevant office.
- The responsible office will check your application and request any missing documents or information from you.
- While your application is being checked by the competent body, various other parties may contact you with queries.
- If necessary, the various parties involved will inspect your company on site.
- You will be notified of the decision to approve your application in writing by post.
First of all, the application is examined. If necessary, the competent authority will request any missing, necessary documents. As soon as the documents are complete, a company visit usually takes place.
After that, the decision is issued. A call-off period is set for certain types of services. During this time, the implementation of the measure and the submission of the invoice are to take place.

In individual cases, processing may take shorter or longer.
There is no legal deadline for processing. After submission of the complete documents, the decision is usually issued after 6-8 weeks at the latest.
You must submit the application in advance. Applications for aids already procured or services already provided cannot generally be recognized.
There are no deadlines for the applications to be submitted. In the case of the labour market programme "Work without obstacles", which is only valid in Lower Saxony, the application must be submitted to the Integration Office no later than twelve months after the employment has taken place.
If you do not have the severely disabled person's ID card or the equal opportunities notification, your employee for whom you want to apply for the benefit can also send the document to the relevant office.
