If the address on the ID card has changed because the holder has moved, he or she must not only register the new place of residence within two weeks, but also have the address details on the ID card changed.

The new residential address is stored on the electronic chip by the responsible office. In addition, an address sticker is affixed to the back of the ID card, sealed and covered with a transparent protective film. The new address is then visibly changed both on the document and on the electronic chip.

If the address on the ID card has changed because the holder has moved, he or she must not only register the new place of residence within one week, but also have the address details in the ID card changed.

Responsibility lies with the municipality, the joint municipality and the town to which the holder of the ID card has moved.

If the ID card holder changes his/her address, he/she can be represented by an authorized person.
