Measurement of a parcel boundary

Applications for boundary determination and boundary restoration are submitted when there is uncertainty about the course of property boundaries. The reason for this may be, for example, that a plot of land is to be acquired but no boundary stones or boundary markers are recognizable on site, or a development is planned on a plot of land and legally prescribed boundary distances must be observed.

When a boundary is established or restored, the position of the boundary points and thus the course of the parcel boundaries is determined. If necessary, the boundary points are marked at the same time, e.g. with boundary stones (demarcation).

The result is explained and announced to the owners involved on site and on the basis of a sketch. Minutes are taken at this so-called boundary appointment. The decision on the boundary determination and demarcation are administrative acts, in contrast to the restoration of the boundary.

The results of the boundary determination, boundary restoration and demarcation are transferred to the official real estate register.

The dividing line between the areas of different types of use is also measured and recorded in the real estate cadastre.

Voraussetzungen

A property survey is carried out on request or ex officio. Applications can be submitted by property owners or by holders of rights equivalent to real property. With their consent, another person may also submit the application.

The process is divided into the placing of the order, the local survey including the recognition procedure and the transfer to the real estate cadastre.
