bavarikon is the portal for art, culture and regional studies of the Free State of Bavaria. It digitally presents art, culture and knowledge treasures from various institutions in Bavaria. The Bavarian State Library is responsible for operating the portal and managing the funds earmarked for bavarikon. The data is hosted by the Leibniz Supercomputing Center of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. bavarikon is not a closed service, but is constantly gaining new cultural objects as content and cultural institutions as partners. A council, which meets every six months and in which various Bavarian cultural institutions are represented, decides on the inclusion of new content in the portal.
