You can obtain confirmation of keeping ducks and geese together with chickens or turkeys.

If you keep ducks and geese together with chickens or turkeys, you can obtain confirmation from the responsible authority in order to detect possible infection of the animals with avian influenza at an early stage.

You need this confirmation to be able to exhibit your ducks and geese at a poultry exhibition or poultry market without prior testing for avian influenza.

You must immediately report the keeping of animals together to the responsible authority.

Evidence of Annex 2 of the Avian Influenza Ordinance (correct number of sentinel animals (chickens or turkeys kept together).

• The animals are geese, ducks, chickens or turkeys.
• You have kept the animals together for at least 7 days before the event.
• The event is a poultry market or poultry exhibition.
• They keep the prescribed number of chickens or turkeys kept together (see links for information).

You can advertise the joint keeping of your ducks and geese with chickens and turkeys for a poultry market or poultry exhibition in writing or via the online service.

If you would like to file the report informally:

• Describe your request and provide all necessary information.
• Submit all required documents.
• Send your notification by email or post to the responsible office.
• The responsible authority will examine your report.
• If you have any questions, the responsible department will contact you.
• You will receive a confirmation.

The processing time depends on the scope of the ad. Processing typically takes 1 to 3 weeks.

• You must keep the ducks or geese together with the chickens or turkeys for at least 7 days before the event.
• Report the animals being kept together immediately.
• You will need confirmation before you can exhibit your ducks and geese at a poultry exhibition or market without the required prior testing for avian influenza.
