Are you looking for a water right? Then you can use the water book to start your targeted search for water rights by specifying the subject and administrative unit.
The water register is an official register similar to the land register. It records water rights and information on protected areas based on water management. It also provides environmental information and is important for the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive. The register serves to provide an overview and evidence of decisions made by the authorities.
In particular, the following are recorded in a water register
- issued permits and authorizations as well as old rights and old powers,
- planning decisions and planning approvals,
- water protection areas,
- risk areas and designated flood plains.
Inspection of the water book is possible for any person. The water book is made available by the individual federal states.
